VP, Operational Risk Manager

Responsible for enhancing the firm's risk management framework covering operational risk, third-party risk management, outsourcing risk oversight, and control governance.

Working closely with business and support functions, you will provide independent second-line oversight, challenge and guidance across the organisation, ensuring risks are appropriately identified, assessed, mitigated and reported.

Responsibilities

• Enhancement of the risk management framework
• Review and recommend risk appetite statements, metrics and tolerances across key risks
• Lead risk assessments
• Facilitate the identification, evaluation and monitoring of material risks
• Drive the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) programme
• Partner with first-line to identify control weaknesses and implement remediation.
• Oversee the development, monitoring and reporting of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and risk dashboards for risk and governance committees
• Identify emerging risks and external threats
• Provide challenge and oversight of risk mitigation strategies and control effectiveness
• Conduct thematic reviews, control assessments, risk assurance, and gap analyses
• Provide expertise on outsourcing risk, vendor risk and third-party risk management
• Review and challenge vendor due diligence assessments, outsourcing arrangements, critical service provider oversight and associated risk controls
• Provide risk insights to senior management and key stakeholders

Requirements

• 8-12+ years of experience within operational risk in a financial institution
• Financial services experience is a must
• Strong understanding of Risk Management frameworks
• Experience in third-party risk management, outsourcing risk oversight, vendor due diligence
• Experience leading RCSAs, control assessments, risk reviews and remediation programmes
• Familiarity with MAS Outsourcing Guidelines, MAS Technology Risk Management Guidelines
• Ability to engage, influence and challenge stakeholders across all levels of the organisation
• Experience preparing risk reporting and presenting to senior management, risk committees or governance forums is preferred
• Again, financial services experience is a must
