Job Summary
You will manage all civil engineering and construction activities for the project, overseeing engineering, scheduling, costs, industrial relations, safety, environmental, and quality aspects while maintaining strong client relations and adherence to company standards.
Experience working on large scale infrastructure projects is critical for your success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all construction activities to ensure timely project completion according to schedules
- Develop and implement engineering, safety, environmental, and quality plans aligned with the Project Execution Plan and McConnell Dowell Management System (MMS)
- Promote and enforce total job safety and environmental awareness among employees, subcontractors, and all personnel on site
- Ensure safe and environmentally compliant working methods by providing adequate plant and equipment, properly operated and maintained
- Organize and coordinate construction activities, continuously monitoring planning, safety, environmental, and quality performance
- Maintain regular on-site engagement with subordinate staff and weekly employees to drive efficient and productive field operations
- Verify all quality-related activities comply with relevant specifications, codes, and contractual standards
- Evaluate and select subcontractors and suppliers based on their ability to meet safety, quality, and environmental requirements
- Communicate subcontractors’ obligations under legislation, codes of practice, Project Execution Plan, and contract conditions, ensuring compliance
- Conduct thorough induction of all personnel on their roles and responsibilities per project requirements
- Control and motivate the workforce, managing disciplinary processes to maintain productivity and discipline
- Submit timely financial, job progress, and site performance reports as requested by the Company and Client
- Manage ordering and purchasing of materials to align with construction schedules and planned delivery dates
- Optimize procurement and utilization of plant resources to maximize efficiency
- Foster a professional company image and maintain harmonious relationships with the Client and their representatives throughout contract execution
