Job Description

Responsibilities

About Axross

At Axross, we build AI-powered HVAC optimization platforms that help industrial clients such as semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing facilities operate more efficiently and sustainably.

Our systems integrate seamlessly with existing HVAC and BMS infrastructure, using real-time data, sensors, and smart control logic to deliver measurable energy savings.

We work closely with mission-critical facilities where system reliability, operational stability, and real-world deployment matter.

What You’ll Be Doing

We’re looking for a hands-on engineer with experience in BMS, HVAC controls, or control system integration to support real-world HVAC optimization deployments.

You’ll work closely with our engineering and AI teams to integrate systems, troubleshoot operational issues, and support deployment activities across industrial and commercial facilities.

Key Responsibilities

HVAC System Integration

  • Design and implement integration between Axross edge devices and client BMS, SCADA, and other OT systems.
  • Integrate systems using protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT, etc. (including proprietary interfaces such as PROFINET, N2)
  • Develop network architectures and data flows for AI model implementation (e.g., system monitoring, fail-safe)
  • Perform integration testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning to ensure reliable system operation

Instrumentation Selection & Implementation

  • Select appropriate sensors and metering solutions for air flow, water flow, temperature, humidity, pressure, and power monitoring applications
  • Develop commissioning and validation procedures to ensure measurement accuracy and reliability
  • Verify instrument performance through engineering calculations, system analysis, and field testing
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation issues and coordinate with vendors to resolve technical problems

Site Deployment & Commissioning

  • Prepare project documentation including method statements, work plans, commissioning procedures, risk assessments, and permit-to-work requirements
  • Plan and coordinate installation, testing, and commissioning activities for sensors, VFDs, power meters, network infrastructure, control panels, and related systems
  • Coordinate contractors, vendors, and client teams to ensure safe and successful project execution
  • Conduct commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance verification to ensure systems operate as designed
  • Prepare project close-out documentation including commissioning reports, as-built drawings, handover packages, and completion reports

HVAC Controls & AI Model Development

  • Provide HVAC controls expertise to support development and deployment of AI optimization solutions
  • Evaluate optimization strategies against operational constraints, equipment limits, and system interactions (e.g., PID tuning, equipment run-times)
  • Validate AI recommendations to ensure safe, reliable, and practical implementation
  • Work with data teams to explore, test and develop different methods to improve control effectiveness and efficiency

What We’re Looking For

Technical Skills

  • 5+ years in BMS / SCADA / industrial controls / HVAC commissioning
  • Familiarity with industry standard communication protocols
  • Strong understanding of chilled water plants, AHUs, cleanroom HVAC systems, and energy optimization
  • Hands-on commissioning experience with sensors, VFDs, power meters, and control panels
  • Ability to read P&IDs, control schematics, network diagrams, and sequence-of-operation documents

Preferred Background

  • Background in HVAC, Mechanical, Controls, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Automation Engineering
  • Experience with HVAC controls, building automation, or energy management systems. HVAC data-driven optimization experience is an advantage.
  • Exposure to industrial or commercial retrofit projects is an advantage
  • Exposure to IoT systems, smart buildings, or industrial automation platforms
  • Familiarity with semiconductor, pharmaceutical, cleanroom, or data centre environments is a plus

Soft Skills

  • Hands-on and comfortable working on-site
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively across teams
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a startup environment

Why Join Axross?

  • Work on real-world AI-driven HVAC optimization projects
  • Gain exposure to AI, IoT, HVAC systems, and industrial automation
  • Join a fast-growing startup working with industrial clients across Southeast Asia
  • Grow alongside a cross-disciplinary engineering and AI team
