Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Project Engineer role based in Penang, Malaysia. The Project Engineer will manage automation projects from initial concept through commissioning, including requirements gathering, specification development, and technical coordination with internal teams and customers. Daily responsibilities include planning project timelines, monitoring progress, managing risks, and ensuring deliverables meet technical, quality, and safety standards. The role involves preparing engineering documentation, drawings, and reports, as well as supporting installation, testing, troubleshooting, and acceptance of systems at the production floor or customer sites. The Project Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, participate in design reviews, and provide technical support and updates to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications

• Strong Project Engineering and Electrical Engineering skills, with the ability to interpret technical specifications, schematics, and automation system designs.
• Proficiency in Project Management and Project Planning, including scheduling, resource coordination, risk management, and progress tracking.
• Effective Communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams, vendors, and customers, and for preparing clear technical documentation and reports.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in industrial automation, semiconductor or electronics manufacturing, or related high-tech environments is an advantage.
• Ability to work on-site in Penang, handle multiple projects, and respond to changing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail, with a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with CAD tools, PLCs, robotics, motion control, or test automation systems is beneficial.
