Overview Of The Position
As a PIE Staff Engineer, you will lead the optimization of our manufacturing workflows, responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma, resolving critical production challenges, and establishing scalable processes for new product introductions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead process development, improvement, and standardization projects
- Design and optimize workflows to improve cycle time, yield, and efficiency
- Identify root causes of production issues and implement corrective actions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.).
- Lead equipment selection, process validation, and production scaling activities
- Support new product introduction (NPI) with robust process setup and qualification
- Develop and maintain process documentation (work instructions, PFMEA, control plans)
- Train and mentor junior engineers and production teams
- Collaborate with Quality, Molding, Maintenance, and Production for integrated process solutions
- Monitor and report KPis such as OEE, downtime, scrap rate, and throughput
Job Requirements
- Degree/Master: Electronic & Electrical/RoboticEngineering Technology or Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, a related discipline or equivalent and demonstrated 5 year experience of experience in process engineering or manufacturing environment Prior involvement in large-scale process improvement or automation projects is preferred
- Ability to interpret engineering design documents: ie. schematics, drawings
- 5+ years of experience in process engineering or manufacturing environment
- Strong expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools
- Skilled in process troubleshooting, DOE, SPC, and root cause analysis
- Familiarity with automation, robotics, or high-volume manufacturing systems
- Proficiency in PFMEA, control plans, work instruction, and quality systems
- Advanced skills in Excel, Minitab, and statistical/data analysis tools
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical leadership
