Summary
We are seeking a hands-on and solutions-driven IT Manager to plan, deploy, and manage IT systems for exhibitions, events, and experiential projects.
This role combines strong network and hardware expertise with a practical, on-ground approach. You will be responsible for ensuring all IT systems are reliable, scalable, and event-ready, while working closely with internal AV, multimedia, and production teams.
This is a hands-on role, requiring active involvement in setup, testing, and on-site troubleshooting during project execution.
Key Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure Planning & Deployment
- Design and implement network infrastructure for events, exhibitions or gallery (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi systems)
- Plan system architecture to support interactive installations, media servers, and digital experiences
- Ensure network stability, redundancy, and performance in live environments
- Oversee setup, testing, and commissioning of IT systems both in-house and on-site
Hardware & Systems Management
- Recommend and source suitable IT hardware and equipment, including:
- Routers, switches, access points
- Servers, workstations, and media players
- Touchscreens, kiosks, and interactive devices
- Evaluate appropriate brands and models based on reliability, project needs, and budget (e.g. Cisco, Ubiquiti, TP-Link or equivalent)
- Manage inventory, maintenance, and lifecycle of IT equipment
AV/IT Collaboration
- Work closely with AV teams to support integration of IT systems with AV setups (e.g. LED walls, playback systems, control systems)
- Understand basic AV workflows and requirements to ensure smooth coordination
- Assist in troubleshooting issues involving both IT and AV components
Project & On-site Execution
- Support projects from pre-production through to on-site delivery
- Lead IT setup during build-up, testing, and show days
- Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting during live events
- Ensure minimal downtime and quick resolution of technical issues
Security & Risk Management
- Implement basic network security measures (firewalls, access control, device management)
- Identify risks and ensure backup systems and contingencies are in place
- Maintain system documentation for deployment and recovery
Team & Vendor Coordination
- Collaborate with internal teams (production, creative, multimedia, AV) to align technical requirements
- Liaise with external vendors, suppliers, and venue technical teams
- Provide guidance to junior IT team members or freelancers when required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field
- 3–7 years of relevant experience, preferably in events, exhibitions, system integration, or related environments
- Experience in hands-on setup and on-site troubleshooting
Strong knowledge of
- Network infrastructure (TCP/IP, routing, switching, Wi-Fi deployment)
- IT hardware systems and configuration
Technical Skills
- Familiarity with networking equipment and ecosystems (e.g. Cisco, Ubiquiti, TP-Link or equivalent)
- Understanding of system architecture, servers, and media players
- Basic working knowledge of AV systems and signal flow is an advantage
- Experience with Windows-based systems; basic Linux knowledge is a plus
