Summary

We are seeking a hands-on and solutions-driven IT Manager to plan, deploy, and manage IT systems for exhibitions, events, and experiential projects.

This role combines strong network and hardware expertise with a practical, on-ground approach. You will be responsible for ensuring all IT systems are reliable, scalable, and event-ready, while working closely with internal AV, multimedia, and production teams.

This is a hands-on role, requiring active involvement in setup, testing, and on-site troubleshooting during project execution.

Key Responsibilities

IT Infrastructure Planning & Deployment

  • Design and implement network infrastructure for events, exhibitions or gallery (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi systems)
  • Plan system architecture to support interactive installations, media servers, and digital experiences
  • Ensure network stability, redundancy, and performance in live environments
  • Oversee setup, testing, and commissioning of IT systems both in-house and on-site

Hardware & Systems Management

  • Recommend and source suitable IT hardware and equipment, including:
  • Routers, switches, access points
  • Servers, workstations, and media players
  • Touchscreens, kiosks, and interactive devices
  • Evaluate appropriate brands and models based on reliability, project needs, and budget (e.g. Cisco, Ubiquiti, TP-Link or equivalent)
  • Manage inventory, maintenance, and lifecycle of IT equipment

AV/IT Collaboration

  • Work closely with AV teams to support integration of IT systems with AV setups (e.g. LED walls, playback systems, control systems)
  • Understand basic AV workflows and requirements to ensure smooth coordination
  • Assist in troubleshooting issues involving both IT and AV components

Project & On-site Execution

  • Support projects from pre-production through to on-site delivery
  • Lead IT setup during build-up, testing, and show days
  • Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting during live events
  • Ensure minimal downtime and quick resolution of technical issues

Security & Risk Management

  • Implement basic network security measures (firewalls, access control, device management)
  • Identify risks and ensure backup systems and contingencies are in place
  • Maintain system documentation for deployment and recovery

Team & Vendor Coordination

  • Collaborate with internal teams (production, creative, multimedia, AV) to align technical requirements
  • Liaise with external vendors, suppliers, and venue technical teams
  • Provide guidance to junior IT team members or freelancers when required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field
  • 3–7 years of relevant experience, preferably in events, exhibitions, system integration, or related environments
  • Experience in hands-on setup and on-site troubleshooting

Strong knowledge of

  • Network infrastructure (TCP/IP, routing, switching, Wi-Fi deployment)
  • IT hardware systems and configuration

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with networking equipment and ecosystems (e.g. Cisco, Ubiquiti, TP-Link or equivalent)
  • Understanding of system architecture, servers, and media players
  • Basic working knowledge of AV systems and signal flow is an advantage
  • Experience with Windows-based systems; basic Linux knowledge is a plus

Key Competencies

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills under pressure
  • Hands-on, proactive, and resourceful approach
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments
  • Clear communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
  • High level of ownership and accountability
