Job Summary

The Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and improving products, components, and systems to meet customer requirements, quality standards, and business objectives. The role involves creating detailed engineering drawings, conducting design calculations, supporting prototype development, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development

• Develop innovative product designs, components, and engineering solutions based on project requirements.
• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and feasibility studies to validate designs.
• Modify and improve existing products to enhance performance, quality, and manufacturability.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and customer specifications.

Project Execution

• Participate in product development projects from concept through production.
• Collaborate with production, quality, procurement, and sales teams to achieve project objectives.
• Support prototype fabrication, testing, and validation activities.
• Investigate design-related issues and implement corrective actions.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate design documentation, engineering change records, and technical reports.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM), assembly drawings, and manufacturing instructions.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards, safety requirements, and company procedures.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve product performance, cost efficiency, and manufacturing processes.
• Participate in value engineering and cost reduction initiatives.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, materials, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• 2–5 years of experience in product design, mechanical design, or engineering development.
• Experience in manufacturing, electronics, automotive, or industrial equipment environments is an advantages
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, Creo, or CATIA.
• Knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with design validation, testing, and engineering change management processes.
• Knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) is preferred.
