Contracts Specialist - Bulk Shipping Contracts

Our client is a leading global mining and commodities trading organisation seeking an experienced Contracts Specialist to join its Singapore-based commercial operations team.
This is a unique opportunity for a contracts professional with experience supporting international commodity transactions, cross-border trade, and bulk shipping activities. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring commercial agreements are accurately drafted, executed, and managed while supporting trading activities across global markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, negotiate, and execute international commercial contracts and confirmations.
- Support commodity trading activities by validating trade entries and ensuring contract accuracy.
- Manage contract execution throughout the transaction lifecycle, from deal capture through to settlement.
- Liaise with traders, logistics teams, finance, legal, and external counterparties to resolve contractual issues.
- Review contractual terms and identify potential commercial, operational, and financial risks.
- Monitor contractual obligations and maintain accurate contract records and documentation.
- Support governance, compliance, and internal approval processes.
- Assist with process improvements and systems enhancements within the contracting function.
About You
You will have experience working within a fast-paced international trading, mining, shipping, logistics, metals, or oil & gas environment and possess strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
Essential Requirements
- Singapore Citizen or Right to work in Singapore.
- Fluent Mandarin and English communication skills (written and spoken).
- Experience preparing, reviewing, and administering international commercial contracts.
- Experience managing cross-border transactions and working with international counterparties.
- Strong understanding of shipping, logistics, commodity trading, or international sales operations.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Highly Preferred
- Experience working within a commodity trading house.
- Exposure to bulk vessel shipments and commodity trading operations.
- Knowledge of trade finance instruments, including Letters of Credit.
- Experience working with ERP or commodity trading systems.
- Understanding of shipping documentation and international trade terms.
