About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Finance Manager to serve as the key person-in-charge (PIC) for all financial matters across our Singapore entities, while overseeing the financial reporting of all entities outside of the China and Hong Kong region. This is a pivotal leadership role requiring a strong command of both technical accounting standards and business partnering capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management to support business growth and long-term planning.
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Lead and mentor a small finance team, overseeing day-to-day operations and fostering a culture of excellence.
2. Financial Planning & Analysis
- Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, including annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
- Analyse financial data, trends, and KPIs to provide actionable insights and recommendations to management.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and overall financial performance.
3. Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee all aspects of the accounting function, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial records.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of financial and management reports.
- Oversee financial reporting for all entities outside the China and Hong Kong region, ensuring consistency and alignment with group requirements.
- Respond to financial inquiries from other Business Department and senior leadership.
4. Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and US GAAP.
- Review GST submissions and annual tax filings to the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS).
- Support external audits and prepare statutory financial statements.
- Uphold corporate governance standards and continuously improve internal control frameworks.
5. Process Improvement & Systems
- Drive finance transformation projects, including automation and reporting enhancements.
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, systems, and data integrity.
Requirement:
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm.
- A minimum of 8–10 years of total experience spanning external audit and commercial finance roles, with demonstrated exposure to financial reporting, controls, and business partnering.
- Prior experience as a Finance Manager or equivalent lead role with direct team management responsibilities.
- Hands-on experience in managing Singapore entities, including statutory compliance and IRAS filings.
- Exposure to working with cross-border teams and coordinating finance activities within a multinational and multicultural environment is an advantage.
- Familiarity with listed company reporting requirements, internal controls, and corporate governance practices is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong command of SFRS and US GAAP; knowledge of IFRS is an advantage.
- Proficiency in GST compliance and annual tax filing processes in Singapore.
- Experience with ERP systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle, or NetSuite.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with data visualisation or BI tools is a plus.
