Project Engineer (Civil) — Railway & Tunnelling | Fresh Graduate Programme | Singapore

You'll start your career at Koh Kock Leong Enterprise Pte Ltd (KKL) — a BCA-accredited Singapore civil engineering firm founded in 1991, specialising in earthworks, cable tunnelling, and underground utilities. Over 30+ years we've delivered work alongside Samsung C&T, Gammon, Bachy Soletanche, and Singapore's National Environment Agency on landmark infrastructure projects.

This role is built specifically for fresh graduates. You don't need site experience — just your civil engineering degree, a genuine interest in railway and tunnelling work, and the willingness to learn from senior engineers who have spent decades doing it.

What you'll work on

Our current and upcoming work focuses on railway and tunnelling projects, including cable tunnels, deep-excavation works, and supporting infrastructure for Singapore's underground network. You'll see the work from drawing board to handover.

What you'll do

• Read and interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings to understand what's being built
• Spend time on-site monitoring construction activity to make sure work matches the design and schedule
• Maintain accurate project records, including as-built drawings and design change logs
• Support cost estimation by calculating material, labour, and equipment costs across project phases
• Track project expenditure against budget and flag overruns early
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and site teams to resolve design questions as they arise
• Work with quantity surveyors on progress claims to ensure completed work is reported accurately

Who we're looking for

• A fresh graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• No prior work experience required. Internship or final-year project work on a construction site is a plus but not necessary
• Comfortable communicating in English; Bahasa Malaysia helps when coordinating with site crews
• Open to working at construction sites
• A safety-first mindset and willingness to obtain Singapore site-safety certifications after joining

What we offer

Monthly salary: SGD 3,300 – 3,800 (commensurate with academic results and degree class)

Working hours

• Monday to Friday: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
• Saturday: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
• Occasional extended hours when site supervision requires it
