What The Role Is

You are responsible for driving MINDEF's interests on defence budget matters, supporting the Resource Management Department (RMD) to manage the defence budget and manpower resources in MINDEF/SAF.

What You Will Be Working On

• Drive MINDEF's position on defence budget matters in engagements with Ministry of Finance (MOF) and other key stakeholders
• Review and advise management on the appropriate defence investment mix to ensure resources are allocated optimally in support of MINDEF/SAF's strategic objectives
• Design and implement frameworks and policies that strengthen MINDEF/SAF's budget planning and management processes
• Apply data analytics and visualisation tools to support budget reviews and provide actionable insights to management
• Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure continued public and government support for the Defence Budget
  
  Challenge(s)
• Advancing MINDEF/SAF's interests in negotiations and engagements while maintaining a Whole-of-Government perspective
• Developing a strong appreciation of the complexities of military requirements
• Balancing competing strategic needs against resource constraints
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• Education in Business, Finance, Accountancy, or Economics is preferred
• At least 1 year of working experience in a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• A positive attitude and willingness to take initiative
