Supervise and coordinate daily laboratory activities with inter department to ensure timely and accurate testing of raw materials, intermediates and finished products
Allocate tasks, set priorities and schedule to meet testing requirements and analytical needs. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to support plant operation
Provide Technical Guidance and review analytical results involving rubber (polymer) , latex and instrumental techniques to ensure test methods are correctly applied and results meet quality and regulatory specification
Support and oversee method development, validation and modification of analytical methods to improve accuracy, robustness and efficiency or new projects from R&D
Oversee the operation, maintenance, calibration and qualification of laboratory instruments and equipment. Coordinate troubleshooting of instrument or method-related issues and liaise with vendor or technical support when necessary
Train and develop laboratory analysts to ensure technical competence
Conduct performance review, identify training needs and support succession planning within laboratory
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and promote safety culture in lab. Participate in safety audit, risk assessments and incident investigation
Ensure data integrity and documentation in order and updated. Review and approve test results, reports and records
Oversee inventory management of laboratory supplies, chemicals reagents and consumables and work closely with finance and purchasing department in cost effectiveness use of resources
Participate in cross-functional improvement projects and support operational excellence initiatives and act as key laboratory contact for internal and external parties
Work closely with supply chain, warehouse and R&D for product release and investigation
Support in audit (ISO , Customer and other audit), inspections and customer or regulatory inquiries related to laboratory activities
Requirements
Experience: 7-8 years of experience working in a chemical plant laboratory, preferably in the manufacturing industry, with hands-on experience in Rubber, Solid, Slurry, and Gas Chromatography analytical techniques
Detail-Oriented: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing laboratory tests, documenting results, and following standard operating procedures
Team Player: Capable of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment, collaborating with colleagues and communicating results and issues clearly
Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and shifting priorities effectively
