What The Role Is

You oversee the maintenance of computing and networking infrastructure housed in the Cyber Evaluation Test and Experimentation Centre (CyTEC).

What You Will Be Working On

• Assist in building IT aspects of exercise networks and cyber defence toolsets for CyTEC training programmes
• Serve as the main technical expert in building virtual networks using hypervisor and virtualisation solutions
• Integrate virtual networks with operational technology testbeds, prototypes, and digital twins to create comprehensive training environments
• Enable expedient development of relevant training networks when new operational needs arise
• Create and maintain realistic training environments that simulate the complexities of defending IT systems in operational contexts
  
  

Challenge(s)

• Staying abreast of new IT developments to keep IT systems ahead of anticipated operational needs
• Maintaining strong cyber and technical competencies in the IT networking domain to understand the training environment needs for defending IT systems
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• Education in Computer Networks, Computer Science, or a related cyber discipline
• At least 3 years of experience supporting cyber exercises, testbeds, or training environments is advantageous
• Competency in enterprise IT infrastructure including computer, networking, and virtualisation technologies
• Relevant cyber certifications will be advantageous
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of cyber defence, monitoring, and investigation tools
• Experience with virtualisation platforms such as VMware and ESXi
• Ability to deploy and manage virtual and segmented IT networks for training or exercise purposes
