Role: AS400 – COBOL DEVELPOR

Location: Singapore

Role Summary

A Senior AS400 COBOL Developer designs, develops, and maintains core enterprise applications on the IBM iSeries (AS400) platform.

Lead technical solutions, optimize database performance, and provide L3 production support, typically collaborating with stakeholders in the financial, banking, or logistics sectors.

Core Responsibilities

Application Development: Design, code, and test complex business applications using COBOL/400, CL (Control Language), and RPG.

Database Management: Develop and optimize DB2/400 databases, write complex SQL queries, and manage data integrity.

System Support: Provide Level 3 production support, troubleshoot batch job failures, analyze system issues, and implement root-cause fixes.

Technical Leadership: Create technical specifications, review code written by junior developers, and mentor team members.

Release & Lifecycle Management: Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), utilizing tools like JIRA.

Technical Requirements

8-10+ years of hands-on AS400 development experience in a corporate environment.

Expertise in COBOL(ILE COBOL preferred)

Mandatory Skills: Strong proficiency in COBOL 400, CLLE, CLP, and DB2 databases.

AS400 Environment: Deep familiarity with IBM i tools including SEU, SDA, PDM, and batch job scheduling.

Domain Expertise: Prior exposure to banking, wealth management, or supply chain is highly preferred.
