A Lead Automation/Systems Engineer at RoviSys will serve as a software or hardware lead on projects, as well as possess the ability to understand functional specifications and/or design specifications and translate that knowledge in the implementation of control systems. A lead engineer will be expected to develop skills required to successfully implement an entire project from both a control system software and hardware standpoint. A Lead Engineer will act as a mentor to Engineers and support training plans for Engineers.
Description of work:
- Design and engineer complex building automation systems (BAS) based on client specifications and project goals.
- control strategies and sequences of operation for HVAC, lighting, security, and other building systems.
- Conduct engineering calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection.
- Work in a team environment with engineers and designers from RoviSys, partners and clients to provide state of the art Control system to improve operation and energy efficiency.
- Development of technical drawings such as Control Panels, Control System Architecture, System P&ID, Schematics and Specification documentation.
- Define and implement programmable logic controller (PLC)/ladder design, distributed control system (DCS) configuration to meet client needs.
- Testing and on-site commissioning of control systems.
- Support of industry clients at sites in Singapore and aboard.
- Will lead team of engineers and technicians to provide control system solutions for clients.
- Will have opportunities to manage small-scale project of 1-3 people.
Control Systems Knowledge:
- Industry 4.0 applications.
- Electrical design, Process Control and Building Automation fundamentals.
- Familiar with Controllers, such as single loop control, PLC, DCS, DDC or PC based control.
- IOT devices, communications protocols and connectivity.
- Exposure to Control Theory and some process understanding is helpful but not required.
- Platforms: Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7, Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider , etc.
- Process understanding of Chiller Controls, HVAC Controls etc.
- Awareness of process safety, validation and good documentation practices.
- Programming languages: PLC ladder Logic, Function Block, SFC VB, etc.
- Third-party HMI/SCADA Software, i.e. Ignition, FTView SE, AVEVA System Platform, TIA Portal, etc.
- Others: Network design/administration.
Qualifications:
- Self-motivated, excellent communication skills and enjoy working with people.
- B.S in Engineering, Physics and related fields.
- Min. 2 years as an Engineer with exposure to automation.
