Principal Accountabilities
- Ownership of campus LAN/WAN, routing, switching, wireless, remote connectivity and supporting infrastructure services.
- Serve as the escalation point for incidents and problem management, leading diagnosis, root cause analysis and service improvement.
- Design and optimise network architecture, segmentation, resilience, failover and performance for academic, examination and clinical operations.
- Own the performance and user experience of wireless services in lecture halls, examination venues, offices and clinical settings, including Juniper Mist and Aruba environments.
- Strengthen network security through effective firewall policy management, NAC and 802.1X, VPN services, vulnerability remediation and compliance-aligned practices.
- Participate in the transition from managed services to an internal support model through knowledge transfer, support readiness, documentation and capability development.
- Mentor other engineers, support the Network Operations lead and establish consistent engineering standards, SOPs, runbooks and disaster recovery procedures.
- Provide technical governance through design review, lifecycle planning, capacity management, standards definition and risk management.
- Improve operational maturity through monitoring, observability, automation, scripting and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work with vendors and partners to ensure service quality, project delivery and effective reduction of long-term external dependency.
Job Requirement:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 3 years of enterprise network and infrastructure engineering experience, ideally in multi-site, high-availability and regulated environments.
- Strong knowledge of campus LAN/WAN, routing, switching, wireless, VPN, firewall policy administration, segmentation, authentication controls and performance optimisation.
- Hands-on experience with Juniper switching and routing, Juniper Mist, Aruba wireless and mixed legacy infrastructure .
- Experience in lifecycle planning, documentation, disaster recovery, vendor management, service transition, monitoring, automation and continuous improvement.
- Preferred certifications: JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP, CCNA/CCNP, Aruba, Fortinet and ITIL Foundation; ISO 27001 awareness is desirable.
- Strong English communication, documentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
