A recently created Group Financial Controller role has become available for an established, fast-growing PE backed organisation in the Technology world who have operations in the Far-East & globally. This client is looking for a Big4/Top10/Top25/Top50 trained Chartered Accountant who's seeking a unique opportunity to work in Malaysia/Thailand and has strong market knowledge of the region.

The Group Finance Controller plays a pivotal leadership role in overseeing the organisation's global financial operations, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, compliance with international and local accounting standards, and robust internal controls. The position is responsible for maintaining a strong governance framework across entities, leading group consolidation, improving processes, and enabling strategic decisions through accurate and insightful financial information.

A critical mandate is to design, build, and complete a secure, audit-ready Group “Data Room” and a scalable Finance & Non-Finance Data Warehouse, enabling analytics, due diligence readiness, and historical insight generation for management and investors.

This role will also work closely with Group Finance Business Partner FP&A, tax advisors, and auditors to deliver high-quality financial outcomes and drive continuous improvements in different financial environment that spans different countries or legal territories.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified chartered accountant who's acheived a Management Level in a Practice firm with a few years' post qualification experience, having worked with global clients (ideally PE backed groups), and a strong technical IFRS knowledge. You may still be in Practice at Manager/Senior Manager level, or left the profession and be at a similar GFC level in a Global business now. Candidates who have a strong technical background and gone into industry will up to Group level also be considered.
