Java Application Support Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a talented Java Application Support Engineer to support and maintain critical business applications used across global operations. This role combines application support, troubleshooting, incident management, and technical analysis to ensure the stability and performance of enterprise systems while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide operation and maintenance support for internally developed business applications.
• Monitor application performance and ensure system stability across global operations.
• Support 24/7 IT operations through on-call support and incident response activities.
• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve application issues to minimize business disruption.
• Perform root cause analysis for system incidents and collaborate with development teams on permanent solutions.
• Troubleshoot application failures and ensure timely restoration of services.
• Analyze source code, identify bugs, and support defect resolution.
• Participate in application performance tuning and operational process improvements.
• Work closely with global teams and stakeholders to ensure service quality and adherence to operational standards.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge-sharing materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or above in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in Java development and strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Spring MVC
• Spring Boot
• Spring Data JPA
• Hibernate
• PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with development and collaboration tools such as:
• Git
• Gradle
• Jira
• Ability to read, analyze, and troubleshoot application code.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve issues.
• Good understanding of software development lifecycle and application support processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive mindset with strong prioritization and multitasking abilities.
• Willingness to work in a 24/7 support environment, including night on-call duties.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise Java applications in production environments.
• Knowledge of sales, presales, CRM, or customer management business processes.
• Experience with incident management, monitoring tools, and ITIL-based support environments.
• Exposure to cloud technologies, DevOps practices, or application monitoring platforms.
• Experience working in multinational or global support teams.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month

Education:

• Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

• collaboration tools such as Git, Gradle, and Jira.: 2 years (Preferred)
• Java development: 1 year (Required)
• knowledge of object-oriented programming.: 2 years (Preferred)
• frameworks such as Spring MVC and Spring Boot: 2 years (Preferred)
• Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, and PostgreSQL: 2 years (Preferred)
