Electrical Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment specifications, datasheets, engineering calculations, and technical documentation for electrical systems and equipment.
• Conduct technical studies, evaluations, and feasibility assessments for electrical systems and equipment, including obtaining client and end-user approvals where required.
• Perform basic and detailed engineering design, calculations, sizing, and analysis for electrical systems, and review designs prepared by vendors, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.
• Review vendor drawings, technical documents, equipment specifications, and engineering deliverables prior to fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
• Liaise and coordinate with the Project Management Team, clients, vendors, contractors, and end users on all electrical engineering matters throughout the project lifecycle.
• Apply relevant international standards, engineering codes, and industry best practices to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant design and operation.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering interfaces and resolve technical issues during design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Ensure all proposed designs, materials, and equipment comply with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Provide technical support during construction, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and project execution activities.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and designers where required.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Superior.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as a Graduate Engineer (GE). Professional Engineer (PEng) registration will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 3–4 years of relevant working experience in electrical engineering, preferably within engineering consultancy, EPCC, EPC, or industrial project environments.
• Experience in oil & gas, energy, petrochemical, or industrial projects (onshore and/or offshore) will be an added advantage.
• Proven experience in electrical system design, power distribution systems, single-line diagrams (SLD), load flow calculations, cable sizing, equipment sizing, and engineering documentation.
• Familiarity with electrical design standards such as IEC, IEEE, MS, and other applicable international codes and standards.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, ETAP, and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with other electrical engineering software will be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of engineering deliverables, vendor management, technical reviews, and project coordination activities.
• Good communication, problem-solving, and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering project environment.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and manage assigned engineering tasks within project schedules.
