A leading international investment bank is seeking an Equity Application Support Engineer to join its electronic trading support team on a 12-month contract. This is a hands-on, trading-floor-facing role supporting cash equities applications in a fast-paced sell-side environment.
The role
- Provide application and production support for cash equities trading systems
- Troubleshoot order issues, rejections, and FIX connectivity problems across desks, OMS, and venues
- Support order management systems and the underlying trade flow end to end
- Run SOD/EOD health checks and monitor application stability
- Investigate issues using Linux, SQL queries, and existing Python scripts; deploy changes as required
- Liaise with trading desks, IT, and development teams to keep the trading platform running smoothly
You will have
- 3–5 years in application or production support within a sell-side environment
- Solid cash equities knowledge and an understanding of the trade lifecycle
- Hands-on experience with order management systems and FIX connectivity
- Comfort working on Linux servers
- The ability to read and modify Python scripts and write SQL to investigate issues
- Ideally: exposure to Fidessa or similar equities OMS/EMS platforms, monitoring tools (Geneos, Dynatrace), Bloomberg, and ticketing tools such as ServiceNow or Jira
