Key Job Responsibilities
Project Planning and SchedulingAssist in developing project plans, defining scope, objectives, timelines, and milestones for electrical installations or upgrades. Coordinate schedules for labor, materials, subcontractors, and site activities to avoid delays.
Resource and Material CoordinationTrack and coordinate resources, including ordering/procuring electrical materials, equipment, and tools. Manage deliveries to site, monitor inventory, and ensure availability when needed.
Documentation and Administrative SupportPrepare, organize, and manage project documentation such as submittals, RFIs (requests for information), change orders, service work orders, contracts, correspondence, permits, as-built drawings, and closeout packages. Maintain comprehensive records for compliance and audits.
Progress Monitoring and ReportingMonitor project progress, track labor productivity, analyze data, and update status reports. Follow up with stakeholders on completions, delays, or issues. Prepare regular reports for project managers, clients, and teams.
Stakeholder and Site CoordinationAct as a central point of contact: facilitate meetings, liaise with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, utilities (e.g., for service adequacy requests), and field staff. Coordinate site activities, commissioning, inspections, and multi-trade integration (especially in MEP—mechanical, electrical, plumbing—projects).
Budget and Cost TrackingAssist with budgeting, cost estimates, expense tracking, and ensuring projects stay within financial limits. Support payroll via labor tracking.
Compliance and Safety OversightHelp ensure adherence to safety protocols, electrical codes (e.g., NEC), permits, environmental regulations, and quality standards. Report incidents, resolve technical bottlenecks, and support risk management.
Change Management and Problem ResolutionHandle change orders, communicate updates to teams, and address issues that arise during installation, testing, or commissioning.
Project CloseoutCoordinate final documentation, commissioning efforts, training (if applicable), demobilization, and handover to the client.
