About the role
We are seeking a Parts Assistant to join our automotive trades team in Temerloh, Pahang. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting our parts department operations. As a Parts Assistant, you will be responsible for managing inventory, processing orders, and ensuring that our customers receive the correct components efficiently. Your contribution will directly impact the smooth operation of our automotive service centre and customer satisfaction levels.
What you'll be doing
- Receiving, inspecting and cataloguing incoming automotive parts and components into inventory management systems
- Locating and retrieving parts from inventory in response to customer orders and technician requests
- Processing parts orders accurately, including entering data into computer systems and preparing paperwork for dispatch
- Maintaining organised storage areas and ensuring parts are stored in appropriate locations for easy retrieval
- Conducting regular inventory counts and reconciliation to ensure stock levels are accurate
- Assisting with ordering new stock when inventory levels fall below predetermined thresholds
- Providing customer service by responding to parts enquiries and advising on availability and pricing
- Operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts where necessary and appropriately trained
- Supporting the parts manager and senior staff with administrative tasks related to the parts department
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment in compliance with health and safety standards
What we're looking for
- Proven experience working in an automotive parts department, warehouse or similar inventory-based role
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
- Proficiency with computer systems and inventory management software, with a willingness to learn new systems
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate order fulfillment and inventory records
- Good communication skills to interact professionally with customers, technicians and team members
- Physical capability to lift, carry and manipulate automotive parts, some of which may be heavy
- Reliability and commitment to maintaining punctuality and attendance standards
- Basic knowledge of automotive parts and terminology is advantageous
- Relevant certification or forklift license is preferred but not essential for the right candidate
- A proactive attitude with a desire to contribute positively to team performance
