About the Role

As a Data Scientist, you will work on advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives involving geospatial, demographic, and urban planning datasets. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design predictive models, generate actionable insights, and support strategic planning initiatives.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving real-world problems using machine learning, statistical modelling, and modern data engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, train, evaluate, and deploy machine learning models in production environments

• Perform data wrangling, feature engineering, model validation, and performance monitoring

• Work with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets including geospatial and demographic data

• Build forecasting and predictive analytics models to support planning and operational decision-making

• Analyze urban planning and population datasets to identify trends and insights

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and engineering teams to deliver scalable data solutions

• Present analytical findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences

• Support cloud-based analytics and machine learning workflows across AWS, Azure, or GCP platforms

• Maintain data quality, governance, and reproducibility standards across analytics projects

Must-Have Skills

3–5 years of hands-on Data Science or Machine Learning experience

Strong Python programming skills

Experience with ML frameworks such as Scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow

Strong SQL and data manipulation skills

Experience across the full ML lifecycle

Hands-on experience with forecasting, ensemble learning, regularisation, or advanced ML techniques

Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred / Bonus Skills

Experience with geospatial analytics and tools such as GeoPandas, QGIS, PostGIS, or ArcGIS

Exposure to urban planning, demographic modelling, or public sector analytics

Familiarity with Singapore planning datasets such as URA Master Plan or HDB housing pipeline data

Experience with agent-based modelling or spatial analytics

Understanding of MLOps, model deployment, and monitoring frameworks
