Engineering Manager – Petronas CCS FEED Project (Kuala Lumpur)
We are currently looking for a freelance Engineering Manager to support a major Petronas CCS FEED project based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
This opportunity is ideal for professionals available for a short-term contract and experienced in multi-discipline engineering coordination with strong client-facing exposure.

Location

  • On-site role (no remote working)

Contract Details
  • Employment Type: Freelance / Consultancy
  • Contract Duration: Short-term (approx. 6 months)

Role Overview
The Engineering Manager will lead and coordinate engineering activities, ensuring all deliverables are completed in line with project scope, technical standards, schedule, and budget.

Key Responsibilities
Project & Engineering Management
  • Support PM and Deputy PM in monitoring engineering progress
  • Track and manage technical changes and variations
  • Deliver engineering plans and project outputs
  • Ensure execution within schedule and budget

Technical Management
  • Review and validate technical deliverables
  • Ensure compliance with contractual codes and standards
  • Identify and resolve technical conflicts

Leadership & Coordination
  • Coordinate Project Engineers and Discipline Leads
  • Manage engineering resources, systems, and tools
  • Ensure alignment of deliverables across disciplines

Stakeholder & Client Interface
  • Act as main interface between internal team and client
  • Manage day-to-day engineering coordination with stakeholders

Engineering Governance & Integration
  • Ensure engineering activities align with tender scope
  • Monitor standardisation and technical compliance
  • Coordinate interfaces across disciplines for consistency

Risk & Issue Management
  • Identify and escalate critical engineering issues
  • Ensure proper documentation and resolution
  • Support smooth implementation of client feedback

Reporting
  • Monthly reporting required (submission by 2nd day of each month)
  • Deliverables subject to internal and client approval
