About the Role
Our client is establishing a new regulated entity in Labuan IBFC and is looking for a Finance & Accounting Executive to be the on-ground anchor for this office. This is not a clerical role, you'll be the sole finance professional managing the entity's accounting, statutory compliance, and day-to-day office operations, reporting directly to the KL leadership team.
What You'll Do
- Maintain full sets of accounts for the Labuan entity in compliance with Labuan FSA requirements and LBATA regulations
- Prepare monthly management accounts, cashflow statements, and financial reports for the KL team
- Handle statutory filings, tax submissions (3% Labuan trading tax), and liaison with Labuan FSA and the Inland Revenue Board
- Coordinate with the appointed Labuan Trust Company (LTC) on secretarial and compliance matters
- Support annual audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
- Manage accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and payment processing
- Oversee day-to-day office administration — vendor management, correspondence, office upkeep, and logistics
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of all entity-level records
- Support the KL team on any cross-entity reporting or fund-related finance tasks as required
What They're Looking For
- 2–4 years of accounting or finance experience
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MIA membership or part-qualified ACCA preferred
- Working knowledge of Labuan FSA regulatory requirements and LBATA is a strong advantage
- Familiar with Malaysian statutory accounting and tax requirements
- Comfortable working independently in a lean, small-office setup with minimal supervision
- Organised, reliable, and able to manage both finance and administrative responsibilities
- Based in or willing to relocate to Labuan — locals preferred
