Position Title: BIM Modeller

Work Arrangement: Malaysia (Onsite)

Schedule: Mondays - Fridays/ 40hrs per week | 7am-4pm Malaysia time

Role Overview

The BIM Modeller / Designer is a key technical role within our multidisciplinary building services practice, responsible for delivering high-quality 3D models and documentation across electrical, mechanical, fire, and hydraulics services. Acting as the critical link between engineering and modelling teams, this position ensures that all designs are accurately translated into coordinated, constructible models that meet client briefs, regulatory requirements, and project BIM execution plans. The role demands technical excellence, strong coordination skills, and a proactive approach to driving innovation and efficiency in digital delivery.

Primary Functions And Responsibilities

• Design and document projects in 3D Revit and companion applications.
• Act as the key interface between engineering and modelling staff.
• Take responsibility for assigned tasks and projects.
• Deliver engineered work to overseeing engineers and clients in accordance with client briefs.
• Operate as a professional team member.
• Work primarily in electrical services, while also contributing to other building services including mechanical, fire, and hydraulics as required within a multidisciplinary building services practice.
  
  

Major Functions:

• Review project briefs and various authority requirements, incorporating them into documented designs under direction.
• Liaise with Engineers to formulate conceptual designs for projects.
• Design and document building services systems under direction.
• Prepare and amend 2D CAD drawings and 3D models.
• Coordinate 3D modelling in accordance with project BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
• Attend internal project meetings as required.
• Assist with the preparation of project construction and variation estimates.
• Assess brief changes against fee proposals and agreed scope of works.
• Prepare certification documents for project engineers and submit to authorities.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and assess applicable regulations.
• Coordinate across DMA Engineers of different disciplines.
• Coordinate design documentation with other project consultants under direction.
• Review documentation prepared by DMA staff.
• Prepare and oversee documentation for various project stages.
• Meet client and project requirements while achieving acceptable financial outcomes.
• Attend DMA meetings as a key team member, including operational and project meetings.
• Promote and advance the company in a professional manner aligned to its strategic direction.
• Assist other staff members from time to time in office operations and project delivery.
  
  

Key Qualifications

• Relevant technical qualifications in building services, or BIM modelling.
