Job Summary

The Safety Technician is responsible for supporting workplace safety, compliance, and incident prevention activities within the data center environment. This role ensures operational safety standards are maintained across data halls, critical infrastructure areas, loading bays, and operational spaces.

The technician will conduct inspections, support incident investigations, maintain safety documentation, and ensure compliance with company safety procedures and regulatory requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Operations & Inspections

• Conduct routine safety walkthroughs across data halls, loading bays, office spaces, and critical infrastructure rooms
• Identify unsafe conditions, hazards, blocked access routes, and non-compliance issues
• Ensure corrective actions are properly tracked and escalated

Incident Response & Investigation

• Support safety incident response and reporting activities
• Assist in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking
• Maintain accurate incident and inspection records

Safety Equipment & Compliance

• Inspect and maintain safety equipment including:
• Fire extinguishers
• Spill kits
• PPE stations
• Emergency lighting
• AED and eyewash stations
• Support emergency drills and evacuation exercises

Documentation & Audit Support

• Maintain safety logs, inspection checklists, and compliance documentation
• Support internal and external safety audits
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, local EHS regulations, and company safety standards

Training & Awareness

• Promote safety awareness across site operations
• Support toolbox briefings and contractor safety onboarding

RequirementsEducation

• Diploma or Certificate in Safety, Engineering, Facilities, or related field

Experience

• 1–3 years experience in safety operations, facilities, construction, manufacturing, or data center environments
• Experience in incident reporting and safety inspections preferred

Certifications (Preferred)Highly Preferred:

• OSHA 10 / OSHA 30
• NIOSH Safety & Health Officer (Malaysia)
• First Aid / CPR / AED Certification

Bonus Certifications:

• ISO 45001 awareness
• NFPA 70E exposure
• HIRARC knowledge
• CIDB Green Card

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM3,200.00 per month
