Jacobs is looking for a System Assurance Engineer to join our Rail and Transit team in Malaysia to support the planning and delivery of projects across the Asia Pacific region.

Day-to-day duties include:

• Develop and maintain hazard logs and risk registers.
• Review contractor system assurance deliverables, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
• Conduct and facilitate hazard identification workshops (HAZID), hazard analysis, and safety assessments.
• Manage the FRACAS (Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System) process, including failure tracking, and coordinating Failure Review Board (FRB) meetings.
• Produce system assurance deliverables including:
• System Assurance Plans
• Safety Cases / Safety Justifications
• Hazard Logs and Risk Assessments
• Verification & Validation (V&V) reports
• Prepare and coordinate safety cases, technical files, and compliance documentation for regulatory review.
• Oversee requirements management activities, ensuring system and assurance requirements are properly defined, traced, verified.

You are expected to have demonstrable experience with the following:

• Application of EN 5012x standards (50126/50128/50129)
• Integration of safety, reliability, availability, maintainability (RAM), and system performance requirements.
• Familiar with Requirements Management Tools

The successful candidate is required to hold the following qualifications and accreditations:

• Bachelor’s Degree or in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in railway systems or mass transit projects.
