Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced OpenShift Administrator / Platform Engineer to manage, operate, and evolve our Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) environment. You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, performance, security hardening, and lifecycle management of OpenShift clusters supporting mission-critical enterprise workloads. Working closely with DevOps, application, and infrastructure teams, you will ensure platform reliability, availability, and compliance across on-premise and hybrid cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP 4.x) clusters across on-premise, bare metal, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Manage cluster lifecycle operations — node scaling, version upgrades, patching, certificate rotation, and capacity planning.
  • Administer OpenShift projects, namespaces, RBAC policies, service accounts, and resource quotas to enforce governance and multi-tenancy standards.
  • Design and implement networking configurations including SDN/OVN-Kubernetes, Ingress controllers, Routes, Network Policies, and Load Balancers.
  • Manage persistent storage solutions — configure and maintain OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF), Ceph, NFS, and dynamic provisioning via StorageClasses and PVCs.
  • Implement and enforce platform security policies — Pod Security Admission (PSA), Security Context Constraints (SCC), TLS certificate management, image signing, and vulnerability scanning using ACS (Advanced Cluster Security / StackRox).
  • Build, maintain, and optimise CI/CD pipelines integrated with OpenShift — using Tekton Pipelines, OpenShift GitOps (ArgoCD), Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
  • Monitor cluster health, performance, and resource utilisation using Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, and EFK/ELK stack — setting up dashboards and alerts for proactive incident management.
  • Provide L3 support for platform incidents — root cause analysis, troubleshooting cluster, networking, storage, and application deployment issues.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and IaC templates using Ansible, Terraform, and Helm for platform provisioning and configuration management.
  • Collaborate with application teams to onboard workloads, define deployment standards, and provide OpenShift best practice guidance.
  • Ensure platform compliance with enterprise security policies, audit requirements, and regulatory frameworks (MAS TRM where applicable).
  • Produce and maintain platform documentation — runbooks, architecture diagrams, capacity plans, and operational procedures.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Linux infrastructure and container platform administration, with at least 3 years focused on Red Hat OpenShift (OCP 4.x).
  • Deep expertise in Kubernetes fundamentals — Pods, Deployments, StatefulSets, DaemonSets, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Ingress, and RBAC.
  • Strong understanding of OpenShift-specific components — Operators, OLM (Operator Lifecycle Manager), MachineConfigOperator, Image Streams, BuildConfigs, and DeploymentConfigs.
  • Proficiency in Linux system administration (RHEL / CentOS / CoreOS) — networking, storage, performance tuning, and security hardening.
  • Hands-on experience with OpenShift networking — OVN-Kubernetes, SDN, Ingress controllers, Routes, and Network Policies.
  • Experience with persistent storage solutions — OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF), Ceph RBD/CephFS, NFS, and dynamic PVC provisioning.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tooling integrated with OpenShift — Tekton, ArgoCD (OpenShift GitOps), Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability — Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, and log aggregation (EFK / Loki).
  • Strong scripting skills — Bash, Python, or Ansible for automation and platform management tasks.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code — Terraform, Ansible, or Helm charts.
  • Familiarity with container security tools — ACS/StackRox, Trivy, Clair, or Quay image scanning.
  • Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator (EX280) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification is strongly preferred.
