Cargo Damage & Loss Investigations
- The candidate must be able to inspect and investigate claims arising from loss, pilferage, or damage to a wide range of dry, bulk, project, and refrigerated cargoes.
- This will include various cargoes such as commodities, grain, steel & products, oil and products, chemicals, machinery, raw materials, etc
- Containerized cargoes including anything and everything from basic commodities, steel products, chemical to perishables, food products, household goods, art & species, and other special cargoes.
- Container surveys for stuffing, de-stuffing, trans-loading, and general condition.
- Pre-loading/discharge surveys of various cargoes such as yachts, boats, steel products, pipes, commodities, packaged goods, etc on board general cargo, Ro-Ro, Bulk vessels, and at warehouses. Load, stow and count surveys.
- Attend on-site for various quality/quantity measurements that include the appointment of a specialist whereby monitoring is required.
- Prepares reports on the basis of the survey attended, recommends actions, repairs, and/or conditions remedied.
Loss Recovery
- Pursue recovery action from local, international insurers/carriers, freight forwarders and against liable 3rd parties.
This employment will primarily cover site attendances in Singapore with occasional travel overseas.
Qualification
- Candidate who possesses qualification in Marine/Insurance discipline will have added advantage.
- Proficient in English language (spoken & written).
- Ability to write reports basis inspection and survey findings.
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to attend sites at short notice and work flexible schedules to attend surveys.
- Knowledge and understanding of the fundamental principles and practices of liability insurances practice is an asset.
- Willing to learn.
- Any surveying experience will be appreciated and further training will be provided.
