Position Summary
Tag is a global creative production studio, part of the Dentsu network, delivering end-to-end marketing content for some of the world's leading brands. This role sits within a dedicated account team supporting a major global consumer goods, cosmetics, and skincare brand on a high-volume creative production for Australia markets.
We are looking for a Senior Designer with a strong print production and artwork background, with 8–10 years of experience producing retail and campaign materials to a fully production-ready standard with minimal to zero rework. This role sits at the intersection of senior creative execution and print production excellence and brand custodianship, where your ability to interpret a brief accurately, apply brand guidelines with precision, and deliver print-ready files without rework will define your value on the account.
You will act as the final quality gatekeeper for print production and artwork output, ensuring every asset that leaves the studio is production-ready and on-brand.
If you are a senior print designer who combines technical rigour with an instinct for brand quality, thrives in a fast-paced and high-volume retail environment, this role is for you.
Position Responsibilities
Print Design & Production
- Conceptualise and design POSM materials including shelf-talkers, wobblers, posters, standees, and in-store display units tailored to retail environments.
- Develop a broad range of print assets including catalogues, brochures, packaging support materials, and campaign collateral.
- Read briefs critically before starting work. If something is unclear, underspecified, or likely to cause problems downstream, ask the right questions early rather than delivering incorrectly and revising.
- Interpret brief requirements accurately and translate them into production-ready artwork files aligned with print vendor specifications and technical requirements.
- Adapt and resize master visuals across different formats, sizes, and market requirements, maintaining visual integrity and brand consistency across every variation.
- Prepare and maintain fully packaged print-ready files (linked assets, fonts, correct structure, export formats) ready for repro house or printer handover.
Brand Custodianship & Quality Check
- Act as senior brand custodian for print output, ensuring strict adherence to brand guidelines across all production outputs and adaptations, applying brand standards with precision and flagging deviations before they reach the client.
- Own the quality check process for print output; verify assets against DPI requirements, colour profiles, bleed and safe zones, font usage, image resolution, and style guidelines before sign-off.
- Ensure all design work is aligned with brand guidelines, campaign objectives, and market-specific nuances.
- Troubleshoot and resolve artwork and print fulfilment issues, escalating only where genuinely required.
Team Collaboration & Delivery
- Act as a senior reference point for other designers on the account, reviewing work, providing constructive feedback, and elevating the team's output quality collectively.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level designers on correct file setup, print production standards, and brand guidelines.
- Support the onboarding of new designers to the account by sharing your working knowledge of the client's brand standards, brief formats, and production requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager, Studio Lead, and market-side stakeholders, managing your own queue with enough autonomy that briefs move forward without constant follow-up, across time zones where needed.
- Maintain accurate time and material records across all active projects, ensuring studio trackers and production logs are up to date.
- Ensure daily production output and quality targets are met, managing your own pace and priorities to sustain delivery under volume.
- Contribute actively to team reviews, creative discussions, and internal initiatives that raise the bar on output quality across the studio.
- Office hours from 8am-5pm with occasional flexibility required to support global stakeholders across time zones.
Required Experience & Skills
- 8 to 10 years of experience in advertising, branding, retail design, or production studio environments, with a strong and demonstrable print production and artwork specialism (prepress + POSM execution).
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, are mandatory, with working knowledge of font management, image specifications, DPI requirements, and colour profiles.
- Basic understanding in Figma would be advantage.
- Exposure to AI-assisted design tools including Adobe Firefly, generative image, or automation would be advantage.
- Experience working on FMCG, beauty, personal care, or consumer goods accounts is a strong advantage; familiarity with strict brand governance environments is essential.
- Deep understanding of print production standards including bleed and safe zones, pre-press file preparation, and packaging files for handover.
- Strong eye for detail with solid foundation in layout and typography across high-volume production output.
- Experience working within cross-market or regional studio structures, coordinating with remote account teams across different time zones.
- Highly organised with strong time management skills, able to handle multiple concurrent projects without compromising quality or missing deadlines.
- Self-directed and collaborative in equal measure; able to move briefs forward independently while working closely with a wider regional team.
- Fluency in English, written and spoken, is mandatory for this role
- A diploma or degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field is preferred, though an exceptional portfolio and equivalent professional experience will be considered
- A strong portfolio demonstrating multi‑channel campaign work across print is required.
