Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an Accountant with 5–8 years of experience to support the end-to-end finance operations primarily for Malaysia entity which will gradually expand into regional entity support.


CORE FUNCTIONS/KEY RESPONSIBILITES

  • Handling procure-to-pay (P2P) and operational accounting activities
  • Performing cash and bank reconciliations
  • Maintaining fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
  • Supporting month-end close and financial reporting processes
  • Assisting with audit requests and preparation of supporting schedules
  • Coordinating with external parties on tax filing and statutory matters
  • Ensuring accounting records are maintained accurately and timely
  • Supporting process improvements and finance operational transformation initiatives
  • Gradually taking on accounting responsibilities for additional regional entities over time


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5–8 years of accounting or finance operations experience.
  • Experience handling operational accounting activities such as AP/P2P, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, and month-end close support.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and fixed asset accounting.
  • Basic understanding of Malaysian statutory, tax, and audit requirements.
  • Experience supporting external audit requests and preparation of audit schedules.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders, auditors, tax agent and external service providers.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


PREFERRED:

  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or MIA membership.
  • Experience handling full sets of accounts.
  • Experience in a multinational corporation (MNC), shared services, or regional finance environment.
  • Experience supporting process improvements, automation initiatives, or finance transformation projects.
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders across multiple entities or regions.
  • Adaptability and willingness to gradually support additional regional entities over time.
