Role Description The Accounting Assistant is a full-time hybrid role based in WP. Kuala Lumpur, with a blend of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. This role supports daily accounting operations, including processing invoices, recording transactions, preparing basic journal entries, and assisting with accounts payable and receivable. The Accounting Assistant will help maintain accurate financial records, support the preparation of financial reports, and assist with reconciliations of bank statements and ledgers. Responsibilities also include organizing financial documentation, updating accounting software, supporting month-end and year-end closing activities, and collaborating with internal teams to resolve billing or payment queries. The role requires strong attention to detail, timely follow-through on tasks, and adherence to internal controls and financial policies.

Qualifications

  • Solid foundation in Accounting and Finance, with the ability to apply basic principles to daily transactions and reporting.
  • Experience with Bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, transaction recording, reconciliations, and document filing.
  • Familiarity with Financial Statements and the ability to assist in preparing or reviewing balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow summaries.
  • Hands-on experience with Accounting Software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar systems) and strong proficiency in spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets).
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working across teams.
  • Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment, maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information.
