Education & Professional Certifications

• Academic Background: Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Plant Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Professional License:Must possess a validBoiler Attendant Certificate of Competency (Grade 1 or Grade 2)or aSteam Engineercertificate issued byDOSH / JKKP (Department of Occupational Safety and Health Malaysia).

Technical Skills & Operational Knowledge

• Boiler Operations: Proven experience in safely operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting industrial boilers in strict accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Water Treatment (RO Plant): Familiarity with operating and maintaining Reverse Osmosis (RO) water treatment plants to ensure high-quality feed water for the boiler.

• Maintenance & Repair: Strong mechanical skills to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on boilers, RO plants, and auxiliary equipment, including specific experience in repairing leaking steam coils.

• DOSH/JKKP Inspections: Experience preparing boiler systems and documentation for statutory inspections and audits by DOSH/JKKP.

• Data Logging: Ability to meticulously monitor, record, and analyze daily operational data, temperature, pressure readings, and equipment anomalies.

Soft Skills & Core Competencies

• Safety-First Mindset: Uncompromising commitment to occupational safety regulations and the correct usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in high-risk environments.

• Troubleshooting & Urgency: Ability to quickly identify operational issues (such as steam leaks or pressure drops) and execute repairs promptly to prevent plant downtime.

• Physical Stamina: Comfort working in high-temperature plant environments and performing hands-on mechanical repairs.

• Ensure the boiler is operated safely in accordance with the established SOPs.

• Carry out repair and maintenance works for the Boiler, RO Plant, and related equipment as instructed, especially during inspections by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health Malaysia (DOSH/JKKP).

• Perform and record periodic inspections (preventive maintenance) on the boiler, RO Plant, and designated equipment.

• Record daily operational data for the boiler, RO Plant, and other equipment, such as steam coil leakages, etc.

• Carry out repair works on leaking steam coils.

• Comply with safety regulations while operating the boiler and performing repair works within the company premises.
