Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Wintel Engineer to support and maintain enterprise Windows infrastructure within a managed services environment. This role will be responsible for ensuring system availability, managing Windows server operations, supporting virtualization platforms, and handling infrastructure incidents and troubleshooting activities.

The ideal candidate should possess strong hands-on experience in Windows Server administration, virtualization technologies, Active Directory, and enterprise infrastructure operations within large-scale environments.

Key Responsibilities

Windows Infrastructure Support

• Administer, maintain, and support enterprise Windows server environments
• Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows-based infrastructure systems
• Ensure server performance, system availability, and infrastructure reliability across production environments
• Support server patching, OS hardening, and security compliance activities

Incident & Problem Management

• Investigate and resolve Windows server and infrastructure-related incidents
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring system and operational issues
• Work closely with internal teams and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
• Monitor infrastructure health and review system event logs regularly

Virtualization & Platform Management

• Manage VMware and Hyper-V environments including virtual machines and virtualization hosts
• Support clustering technologies and high-availability configurations
• Administer Active Directory services including Group Policy and user management
• Support backup and recovery operations for enterprise systems

Monitoring, Backup & Disaster Recovery

• Monitor infrastructure systems using enterprise monitoring tools
• Perform system backup, restore, and recovery activities based on operational requirements
• Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution activities
• Participate in DR drills and operational recovery exercises

Documentation & Operational Support

• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and infrastructure records
• Participate in operational reviews and technical discussions with stakeholders
• Support capacity planning and infrastructure performance analysis
• Assist with continuous improvement and automation initiatives where applicable

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline
• Experience supporting Windows Server environments within enterprise or managed services environments
• Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server administration and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows Clustering technologies
• Experience managing VMware vSphere and/or Hyper-V virtualization platforms
• Familiarity with backup solutions, endpoint protection platforms, and infrastructure monitoring tools
• Exposure to SAN storage technologies and enterprise server hardware will be advantageous
• ITIL certification or relevant IT service management experience is preferred
• Basic scripting or automation experience will be an added advantage
• Strong communication, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills
• Able to work independently and collaboratively within operational support teams
