Key Responsibilities
Environment & System Support:
- Provide L2/L3 support for Linux environments (RHEL / Oracle Linux / CentOS).
- Monitor system health, performance, capacity, and availability.
- Perform incident, problem, and change management in line with ITIL processes.
- Handle environment readiness for application releases, patches, and upgrades.
Operational Excellence:
- Manage user access, file systems, processes, services, and cron jobs.
- Perform system maintenance activities: patching, upgrades, reboot coordination.
- Support 24x7 operations as part of on‑call or shift roster (if applicable).
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to OS, CPU, memory, disk, and network.
Automation & Scripting:
- Develop and maintain scripts using Shell / Bash / Python to automate routine tasks.
- Improve operational efficiency through standardization and automation.
Security & Compliance:
- Ensure systems comply with banking security standards, hardening guidelines, and audit requirements.
- Support vulnerability remediation, system hardening, and access reviews.
- Work closely with security and risk teams during audits.
Collaboration & Documentation:
- Coordinate with application, database, middleware, network, and cloud teams.
- Maintain clear documentation, SOPs, and runbooks.
Technical Skills (Mandatory)
- Strong hands‑on experience with Linux OS (RHEL / Oracle Linux preferred).
- Proficient in:
- Process management
- File system management
- Networking basics (TCP/IP, ports, firewalls)
- User and permission management
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, OEM, AppDynamics – any).
- Working knowledge of ITIL, incident and problem management.
- Shell scripting (Bash) – mandatory.
