System Engineer (Level 1) – Windows Infrastructure Support
Multiple Client Sites(Main sites near Kallang & Lavender)
1 Year Renewable Contract under Agency
Basic Salary up to S$6,500 + Bonus
Security Clearance Requirement: Cat 2
We are looking for a hands-on and customer-focused System Engineer (Level 1) to join a fast-paced enterprise infrastructure support environment supporting critical systems across multiple client sites in Singapore.
This role is ideal for candidates with strong Windows Server administration experience who enjoy troubleshooting, maintaining stable IT operations, and working closely with infrastructure and application teams.
Key Responsibilities
System Operations & Support
- Monitor and maintain Windows server environments and infrastructure systems
- Perform daily health checks to ensure systems availability and performance
- Respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and restore services within SLA timelines
- Support production, development, and test environments
Installation, Configuration & Maintenance
- Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Windows servers and related infrastructure
- Apply security patches, fixes, and system updates following change management procedures
- Maintain server configurations according to operational standards
Incident & Problem Management
- Investigate system alerts, recurring issues, and technical incidents
- Perform root cause analysis and coordinate issue resolution with internal teams/vendors
- Document troubleshooting steps, fixes, and knowledge base articles
Change & Release Support
- Support infrastructure changes, deployments, and maintenance activities
- Participate in maintenance windows and rollback planning
- Assess impact of changes on operational environments
Security & Compliance
- Support vulnerability remediation and system hardening activities
- Manage user access controls and security compliance requirements
- Ensure systems adhere to internal security and audit standards
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and operational runbooks
- Prepare incident reports, maintenance reports, and service updates
- Ensure proper handover documentation for operational continuity
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for automation and operational improvements
- Recommend enhancements to monitoring, reliability, and support processes
- Participate in service improvement initiatives
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience supporting:
- Windows Server 2012
- Windows Server 2016
- Windows Server 2019
- Windows Server 2022
- Experience in Windows system administration and infrastructure support
- Familiar with patching, monitoring, backup, and troubleshooting activities
- Good understanding of incident management and operational support processes
- Experience supporting enterprise production environments
- Able to work independently and in a team-based environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy
- Exposure to virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and ITSM/ticketing systems
- Basic scripting or automation knowledge (PowerShell preferred)
- Experience supporting government or enterprise environments is advantageous
Requirements
- Locals only (due to Cat 2 security clearance requirement in this project)
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Willing to travel to multiple client sites when required
- Able to support after-office-hours maintenance activities when scheduled
