Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and driven Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations within our Battery Recycling Plant. In this role, you will take ownership of production planning, process optimisation, quality performance, and team leadership to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership position suited for individuals with strong experience in chemical or process plant environments who thrive in a fast-paced and high-impact setting.
Key Responsibilities
Lead production team and manufacturing activities as Area Owner, including production planning, process troubleshooting, and quality control initiatives
Manage and conduct performance reviews, addressing performance gaps, discipline matters, and team development
Develop and monitor production schedules, ensuring delivery against operational targets and KPIs
Drive productivity, quality, and training metrics, and report performance to management and stakeholders
Lead Continuous Improvement Programmes (CIP) and collaborate with engineering teams on investigations and corrective actions
Ensure proper training and adherence to Work Instructions (WI) for all production staff
Monitor raw material usage and availability, and propose solutions to address shortages
Manage material and labour variances to meet operational targets
Oversee basic maintenance of production equipment to maximise uptime and efficiency
Maintain production floor safety, cleanliness, and 5S standards
Collaborate with maintenance teams to drive TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) initiatives
Track and present monthly KPIs, and support capacity planning through skills matrix and machine utilisation analysis
Key Requirements
Degree in Chemical Engineering or other relevant Engineering discipline
Proven experience in manufacturing environments, preferably in chemical or process plant industries
Strong background in production operations, including manpower planning and capacity optimisation
Experience in leading teams, driving performance, and handling operational challenges
Hands-on experience in process troubleshooting and material planning
Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
