Job Description: Core Banking Domain Lead

Role Summary

The Core Banking Domain Lead is responsible for leading the Core Banking domain by ensuring alignment with the organization’s business goals and technology strategy. This role oversees a large cross-functional team, driving delivery excellence across core banking initiatives, including implementation, releases, and production support, while ensuring system stability, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Core Banking including CASA domain strategy and ensure alignment with organizational objectives and technology roadmap.
• Manage a large cross-functional team (100+ members) including Delivery Managers, Analysts, Developers, Production Support, DevOps, Release Management, and Environment Support teams.
• Manage the complete process of delivering essential banking projects, such as:
• Project implementations
• Quarterly releases and change requests
• Level 3 production support and issue resolution
• Collaborate with Audit, Risk, and Compliance teams to support governance, audits, and risk assessments.
• Engage with stakeholders across IT, business units, operations, and testing teams to ensure high-quality system delivery and stability.
• Manage relationships with vendors and solution providers to ensure effective service delivery.
• Lead, mentor, and develop team members; conduct performance reviews and manage contract resources.
• Plan, track, and monitor delivery timelines and ensure adherence to milestones.
• Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes, quality, and operational efficiency.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• Minimum 9+ years of experience in Core Banking in similar lead role and performing similar responsibilities and/or Information Technology and overall 18+ years of experience in Banking Industry.
• Strong expertise in Core Banking systems (applications, architecture, and databases).
• Proven leadership experience managing large teams or functional units.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to manage high-pressure environments, deadlines, and evolving requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills (both technical and non-technical audiences).
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
• Results-driven mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Recent experience with Silverlake core banking systems.
• Exposure to AS400 platform.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Additional technical or professional certifications in banking/IT domain.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related discipline.
