Overview

The Credit Analyst is responsible for evaluating SME and corporate financing applications, conducting credit and financial analysis, and supporting credit assessment and approval processes. The role involves assessing borrowers’ financial strength, repayment capability, business performance, and overall risk profile to support sound lending and investment decisions.


The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and the ability to work in a fast-paced financing and investment environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze SME and corporate financing applications, including assessment of financial statements, management accounts, cash flow position, and debt servicing capability.
  • Conduct credit evaluations to determine borrower creditworthiness, repayment capacity, and overall risk exposure.
  • Review supporting documents including bank statements, corporate documents, financing structures, and security or collateral arrangements.
  • Perform financial ratio analysis, trend analysis, industry comparisons, and risk assessments.
  • Identify key risks, mitigating factors, and potential concerns relating to financing proposals.
  • Prepare credit papers, risk assessment reports, and recommendation memorandums for management review and approval.
  • Support the structuring of financing terms, repayment schedules, covenants, and security requirements.
  • Conduct industry and market research to support credit and investment evaluations.
  • Monitor existing financing portfolios and borrower performance to identify early warning signs or potential credit deterioration.
  • Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, approval conditions, and relevant regulatory or documentation requirements.
  • Liaise with clients, relationship managers, legal counsels, valuers, auditors, and external parties where required.
  • Maintain proper documentation, records, and tracking of financing transactions and credit-related matters.
  • Support management on due diligence, transaction execution, and portfolio monitoring activities.
  • Perform any additional tasks reasonably required to support the Company’s operational needs.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in credit analysis, corporate banking, SME banking, private credit, corporate finance, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, credit assessment, and risk evaluation.
  • Familiarity with SME and corporate financing processes and lending principles.
  • Knowledge of financial modelling and structured financing is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial analysis tools.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
