BRIEF
As the Tax Manager, you will play a key role in managing and facilitating the accurate preparation and filing of tax of Pentas Flora Group of Companies. This role will monitor current and impending changes to tax regulation and make the appropriate updates to policies and strategies, identify opportunities for process improvement and potential areas of risk. To ensure compliance, this role would optimize reporting procedures and drive the successful function of the tax team.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Develop and lead tax strategies in line with overall business objectives.
- Ensure tax compliance by reviewing direct and indirect tax returns, tax provisions and attending to tax queries.
- Develop and lead both tax-savings opportunities and tax solutions by working closely with multiple stakeholders.
- Provide advice and guidance on all tax-related matters including assisting with tax audits.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of income tax returns of the Group and other business-related filings, such as SST return.
- Preparation of transfer pricing documentation.
- Be involved in transfer pricing advisory projects and related tasks.
- Implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures, and develop and implement strategic tax planning.
- Plan and develop overall return calendar and coordinate timing and input with the tax team and review tax returns, including quarterly / yearly tax projections.
- Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to the management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
- Manage and mentor members of tax team to achieve greater level of effectiveness and engagement.
- Work with finance and other cross-functional teams to implement and improve end-to-end tax processes and procedures to mitigate risks.
- Communicate with accounts and finance team on tax provision and tax planning related matters.
- Any other tax-related tasks as assigned or required by stakeholders.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
- Min 7 years of experience in commercial tax or public accountant role.
- Professional certifications such as ACCA / CPA / CIMA or similar qualifications.
- Proven advisory and compliance experience across direct tax, indirect tax, international tax, and transfer pricing.
- Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
- Extensive individual / corporate / partnership tax knowledge.
- Ability to work independently as well as the ability to build relationships with different stakeholders to communicate the benefits of tax initiatives.
- Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks and the tasks of other tax team members.
- Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills and high attention to detail.
