JOB SUMMARY
- This role focuses on key areas of Quantity Surveying, with a preference for expertise in cost control and cost planning, supported by a solid background in various forms of construction contracts.
- The successful candidate will convene and teach undergraduate units within the School of Engineering and Science, particularly in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, and their own research specialization.
- The ability to teach a broad range of Quantity Surveying subjects—including Construction Technology, Measurement, Professional Practice, and construction-related software and technologies—will be considered an added advantage.
- In addition to teaching, the role involves providing academic leadership, contributing to both traditional and applied research, and engaging with external stakeholders in support of Quantity Surveying and the wider mission of the university.
Key contributions include:
- Delivering teaching, scholarship, and administrative responsibilities within the unit or across interdisciplinary areas at undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate levels.
- Providing leadership and actively participating in scholarly, research, and professional activities relevant to the discipline, profession, or community.
- Making original contributions to the advancement of knowledge in research or scholarship, with recognition at least at the national level.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- PhD in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Professional Quantity Surveying (PQS) or Consultant Quantity Surveying (CQS) qualification is an advantage.
- Demonstrated track record of substantial research output with significant impact.
- Recognised expertise and considerable professional experience in Quantity Surveying.
- Proficiency in industry-relevant software and technologies is an advantage.
