About the role
The Intern will support the Corporate Secretarial and Compliance team in day-to-day operations, gaining practical exposure to client servicing, regulatory requirements, and administrative processes.
Key responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of documents and lodgements (e.g. resolutions, signing documents), supporting client onboarding processes, handling basic client queries, and drafting routine client communications under supervision. The Intern will also assist in compliance-related tasks such as KYC checks, client due diligence, and monitoring of beneficial ownership disclosures.
Provide administrative support including preparation of regulatory submissions, maintaining internal tracking systems, updating statutory records, and supporting the filing and documentation process. The role will also involve assisting in projects such as stamping of agreements and supporting the team in AGM/AR documentation preparation.
The Intern will further undertake research assignments on Labuan laws and regulatory frameworks, including benchmarking against other financial centres, and may be required to present findings internally.
Key Requirements
Education: Diploma/Degree in Law, Business, or Marketing
Fresh graduates from UMS Labuan are encouraged
Basic Knowledge: corporate compliance, governance (basic understanding is sufficient)
Key Tasks: Assist in company incorporation, prepare resolutions/minutes, maintain statutory records, support filings
Skills: Good attention to detail, good English communication (spoken and written), MS Office, organized and responsible
Bonus: Interest in ICSA/CGI or compliance/AML
Duration: Typically 3 months
This role provides hands-on exposure to corporate secretarial, compliance, and client servicing functions within a professional services environment.
