Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, driving a strong culture of ownership, reliability, and technical excellence
• Oversee the development of backend platforms and infrastructure for digital wallets, prepaid cards, and payment systems
• Design and implement scalable, high-performance distributed systems
• Ensure platform reliability, security, and operational stability
• Work closely with product, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver new features and improvements
• Establish best practices in architecture, monitoring, and system performance

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience in backend/platform engineering (fintech or large-scale systems preferred)
• Proven experience in system design, APIs, and distributed architectures
• Prior experience in leading or mentoring engineering teams
• Strong understanding of scalability, reliability, and high-volume transaction systems
• Exposure to payment systems, card processing, or financial platforms is a strong advantage
• Familiarity with cloud, microservices, and modern backend frameworks
• Knowledge of security, compliance, and data integrity in financial systems
• Experience with AI coding tools (e.g. Claude, Cursor) is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM15,000.00 - RM20,000.00 per month
