Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Costing Engineer (RFQ / CNC Manufacturing) to assist in the estimating life-cycle from Request for Quotation (RFQ) to final proposal. This role serves as the bridge between Engineering, Supply Chain, and Sales, responsible for analyzing Bills of Materials (BOMs), interpreting technical drawings, and calculating precise labor and material costs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing processes (machining/electronics) and the ability to build competitive, profitable pricing models within our ERP system.

Core Responsibilities

• Review incoming RFQs from customers to determine manufacturing feasibility and scope
• Interpret engineering drawings (2D/3D), technical specifications, and quality standards to identify material, tooling, and labor requirements
• Estimate manufacturing cycle times, determine process routings, and identify necessary fixtures or cutting tools for production
• Input manufacturing costs into Epicor ERP system. The manufacturing costs include raw materials, machine time, labor, outside processing (e.g., anodizing/coating)
• Communicate with suppliers and our internal procurement team to obtain competitive pricing for raw materials and electronic components
• Build and maintain complex BOM structures and costed BOMs within the ERP system
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to validate process assumptions and identify opportunities for cost reduction (Lean manufacturing, cycle time reduction)

Qualifications:

• Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in costing, quoting, or manufacturing analysis (industrial or manufacturing environment preferred)
• Strong understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs), manufacturing processes, and labor estimation
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP/MRP systems is an advantage, specifically Epicor
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and sales teams
• Ability to manage multiple quotations and meet deadlines

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
