Responsibilities:
Installation and Maintenance:
- Install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems and equipment such as pumps, valves, motors, and machinery.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment runs efficiently and downtime is minimized.
Troubleshooting and Repairs:
- Identify mechanical issues by inspecting systems and equipment.
- Repair or replace faulty components, using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Work on mechanical failures in accordance with standard operating procedures.
System Testing:
- Test mechanical systems and equipment after maintenance or installation to ensure they meet performance standards.
- Ensure all systems are functioning correctly and safely.
Blueprint and Technical Drawing Interpretation:
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints for the proper installation and maintenance of mechanical systems.
- Adjust components as needed to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
Equipment Calibration:
- Calibrate mechanical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Adjust settings and fine-tune machinery to maintain production efficiency.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and time spent on each job.
- Provide reports on the condition of mechanical systems to management or supervisors.
Collaboration:
- Work with engineers, other technicians, and operators to resolve mechanical issues and improve operational processes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance schedules.
Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
- A DIPLOMA in mechanical engineering or a related field.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a mechanical technician role, particularly in industries like manufacturing, construction, or healthcare.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, machines, and equipment.
- Proficiency in using mechanical hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and machines.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
