Role Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic IT Asset Manager to oversee the full lifecycle management of IT assets, including hardware, software, and licenses. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate asset tracking, optimizing asset utilization, maintaining compliance with licensing agreements, and supporting cost control initiatives.
The ideal candidate will bring strong governance, analytical, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive process improvements and ensure alignment with IT and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of IT assets, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
- Maintain and continuously update the IT Asset Management (ITAM) system/CMDB to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Track and monitor hardware and software inventory, ensuring proper allocation and utilization across the organization.
- Oversee software license management, ensuring compliance with vendor agreements and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular asset audits and reconciliations to identify discrepancies, risks, and optimization opportunities.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, and IT teams to manage asset purchasing, budgeting, and cost optimization.
- Develop and enforce IT asset policies, standards, and procedures aligned with organizational governance.
- Support IT security and risk management initiatives by ensuring proper asset control and tracking.
- Generate reports and dashboards on asset usage, lifecycle status, depreciation, and compliance metrics.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance asset tracking, reduce wastage, and improve operational efficiency.
Skills and Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in IT Asset Management, IT Operations, or Infrastructure Support.
- Strong understanding of IT asset lifecycle management and inventory control practices.
- Experience with ITAM tools or CMDB platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, SCCM, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of software licensing models (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe) and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with IT governance frameworks such as ITIL is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with experience in tools such as Excel or BI platforms.
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
