Employment Type: 12-Month Contract (Renewable)

Working Hours: 12-hour shift basis (4 working days followed by 4 days off rotation)

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented NOC / Network Monitoring Engineer to support network and server monitoring operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring IT infrastructure, handling Level 1 support activities, troubleshooting incidents, escalating issues when required, and ensuring operational stability within agreed SLA timelines.

Candidates with experience in Network Operations Center (NOC), network monitoring, server monitoring, or IT infrastructure support are highly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring Operations

• Deliver monitoring operations for networks, servers, platforms, and application services
• Monitor alerts, alarms, and system events using monitoring and management tools
• Provide first-level support response for incidents identified through monitoring systems
• Ensure timely incident handling in accordance with SOPs and Service Level Agreements (SLA)

Incident & Problem Resolution

• Perform Level 1 / 1.5 troubleshooting and issue resolution
• Escalate unresolved incidents to Level 2 or Level 3 support teams when necessary
• Coordinate with engineers, vendors, and suppliers for faster issue resolution
• Maintain proper incident documentation and status updates

Scheduled Operations

• Execute scheduled operational routines based on predefined procedures
• Perform routine health checks on network and server infrastructure
• Ensure operational tasks are completed within defined timelines

Requirements

Mandatory Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or related field
• Basic knowledge of networking, servers, and operating systems
• Understanding of network monitoring concepts and IT infrastructure support
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken)
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Willing to work on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule (4 days work, 4 days off)

Preferred Skills & Experience

Candidates with the following experience or certifications will have an added advantage:

• Experience working in a: Network Operations Center (NOC), Infrastructure Monitoring Team, IT Operations Support environment
• Familiarity with: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN technologies
• Experience using monitoring tools such as: SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix,
• Basic understanding of: Routing & Switching, OSPF, BGP, VLAN, MPLS
• Knowledge of: Firewall configurations, Network security best practices, Network performance monitoring and analysis

Certifications (Added Advantage)

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• CompTIA Network+
• Equivalent networking certifications

Pay: RM1,453.33 - RM3,000.00 per month

Education:

• Bachelor's (Preferred)
