We are seeking an experienced Hydraulics Commissioning Engineer to join our offshore operations team, specialising in the commissioning, testing and handover of hydraulic systems aboard cable lay vessels and associated deployment equipment. You will work across all project phases from FAT to offshore commissioning and client acceptance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Commissioning & Testing

Support Project team during pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for cable lay equipment such as:

• Cable Tensioners, Linear Cable Engines, Spooling Arms, A-Frames, Backdeck support winches, Deck Cranes & Mooring winch systems etc.

• Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) in line with project specifications and client requirements

• Support Project team on developing and executing commissioning procedures and checklists and punch list documentation

2. Hydraulic Systems

• Perform system flushing, pressure testing, and functional verification of hydraulic circuits

• Modify hydraulic schematics based on operational requirements (If any)

• Interface with OEMs, subcontractors, and client representatives during all commissioning phases

• Diagnose and resolve hydraulic faults, including issues with HPUs, proportional valves, servo systems, and control interfaces

3. Troubleshooting & Support

• Identify and resolve hydraulics, instrumentation, and pressure related issues

• Provide on-site technical support during offshore operations (if required)

• Support emergency breakdown and fault-finding activities

• Collaborate with electrical and controls engineers to integrate hydraulic systems with PLC/SCADA platforms

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare commissioning reports, test records, and punch lists

• Update hydraulic schematics and O&M manuals

• Ensure proper documentation handover for client submission

5. Coordination & Collaboration

• Coordinate with Design teams, Project engineers & Ground teams

• Liaise with internal mechanical and electrical teams during integration

• Support Operational related training to operators / client personnel

• Complete the hydraulic system as-built and contribute to final documentation packages (O&M manuals and test records etc.)

6. Quality & HSE Compliance

• Follow company’s quality policy procedures

• Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures

• Ensure safe commissioning practices, especially in offshore environments

• Participate in risk assessments and toolbox talks
