We are looking for a Regional Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to improve and enhance IT operations, cybersecurity posture, and IT architecture across both our Regional Headquarters (“RHQ”) and its subsidiaries. The incumbent will be an understudy and report directly to the Digital Transformation (“DX”) Manager , while progressively taking on broader regional coordination, vendor management, and solution design responsibilities:
1. IT Operations & Infrastructure
- Manage, optimise, maintain and update the entire IT infrastructure, from networks, servers, endpoints, security, identity platforms to cloud platforms, with proper operational documentation, asset records, and standard operating procedures.
- Oversee, support and perform day to day IT operations to ensure stability, availability, and security.
- Administer and optimise Microsoft 365 (“M365”) and Entra ID environments, providing support on access governance, authentication mechanisms (including for smartphone-based authentication), and user lifecycle processes.
- Troubleshoot issues and incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement both corrective and preventive measures.
- Act as a key point of contact for L1 and L2 Support and escalation within RHQ entity and overseas subsidiaries.
2. Business Systems & Applications
- Identify business challenges and come up with solutions from defined parameters through planning and implementation.
- Develop centralised management of business systems and applications, encompassing M365 Power tools, Enterprise Resource Planning (“ERP”) systems and productivity platforms.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and assist with system enhancements.
- Support systems integration and optimisation initiatives for all regional entities.
3. Project & Vendor Management
- Lead or support various infrastructure, security, and application enhancement projects from planning, design and development to go-live and post launch support.
- Manage and coordinate with external IT and cybersecurity vendors, implementing appropriate controls and monitoring quality, cost, and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with Group DX and local IT and business teams to promote, support and align DX projects and initiatives.
4. Cybersecurity & IT Architecture
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of cybersecurity controls across endpoints, identity, network, and cloud environments.
- Review and assess existing IT and security architecture and propose practical, risk-based improvements to strengthen technical and operational measures against cyber threats and data breach risks.
- Coordinate on cybersecurity testing, assessments, audits and remediation activities with external vendors.
- Ensure RHQ and subsidiaries’ compliance with Group DX and security standards, covering country-specific data protection requirements and industry leading practices.
5. Information Security, Digitalisation and Business Readiness
- Promote effective use of M365 and business applications and tools within Meiji’s enterprise systems environment.
- Educate and guide adoption of information security policies and procedures across business users, such as conducting or rolling out training programmes.
- Contribute to digitalisation and process improvement initiatives across the region.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field is highly desirable.
- Minimum seven (7) years of hands‑on experience in a wide range of L1 and L2 Support activities.
- Excellent technical depth in IT systems, ERP systems and cloud servers, with a strong preference in Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience.
- Good foundational knowledge and sound risk awareness in cybersecurity fundamentals and IT architecture.
- Proven experience working with external IT or cybersecurity vendors, with ability to recommend these vendors where appropriate.
- Exposure to cybersecurity assessments, audits, or penetration testing is advantageous.
- Comfortable balancing hands on execution with growing coordination and project leadership scope.
- Strong communication and engagement skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Ability to work proactively and independently, managing different projects and users’ timelines and priorities, and delivering results across diverse business units.
- Proficiency in Japanese is ideal to liaise with Group DX colleagues based in Japan, but not mandatory.
- Ad-hoc travel to Japan (HQ) and overseas subsidiaries where required.
